Software

Automated drop formation research and quality monitoring

Advanced Drop Analysis (ADA) is an optional software utility for the LP50 inkjet printer that enables fully automated multi-dimensional research of ink drop formation.

This feature allows fast and efficient optimization of jetting performance for specific inks and printheads in order to achieve best printing results on the substrate given. Once an optimal waveform is created, Advanced Drop Analysis also enables that waveform to be validated for different nozzles, printheads and batches of ink, to provide process tracking over time.

ADA makes use of the integrated high-speed dropview camera to analyze drop formation, while varying the jetting settings. The effect of each setting is then visually presented, and the results can be exported to specific printing recipes.

Automated Print Optimization (APO) is an optional software module for the PiXDRO LP50 inkjet printer that enables quick and effective definition of the optimal print settings.

APO software is designed for process developers who want to investigate various ink materials and substrates, and who need to define the best print settings to achieve their goals. APO unlocks the full potential of the printer by providing quick access to the various advanced print strategies.

The automated print routine generates a matrix of patterns on a substrate based on the variation of pre-selected input parameters, enabling operators to rapidly find the optimal settings for their application.

Software package

For conversion to inkjet printable format

The Advanced Gerber File Rasterizer for PiXDRO inkjet printers enables conversion of Gerber files to an inkjet bitmap format. The software package supports the printing of masking layers, interconnection circuits, encapsulation coatings and many other applications.

Typically, the conversion of a vector (Gerber) file to a bitmap print file can cause rounding and pixelization errors. The Advanced Gerber File Rasterizer minimizes these errors, and can conserve the minimum feature sizes of the original design. The software package is specifically designed for LP50, IP410 and JETx inkjet printers.

The LP50 represents a unique combination of technologies from SUSS MicroTec and Xaar. It provides an R&D inkjet printing platform that enables fluid developers and OEMs working in a variety of application areas to incorporate Xaar’s piezo inkjet technology. The LP50 is compatible with many Xaar printheads, electronics and ink delivery systems. Its precise fluid control – essential for functional printing – is due to highly accurate drop placement, consistent drop volume and high frequency jetting with variable drop size capability. Whether for validating fluids in labs or for boosting manufacturing capacity, the LP50 platform is a flexible, easy-to-use inkjet printing solution suitable for applications such as printed electronics, photovoltaics, OLEDs and biomedical. Transfer of settings to PiXDRO JETx production equipment ensures scalability.

Low-cost testing without compromise

The DMC module is upgradable on PiXDRO LP50 system with software version 4.3.1 and higher.

The optional PiXDRO DMC module is completely integrated and can be controlled via the printer’s user interface software just like other heads. It is compatible with all available disposable cartridges for 1 and 10 pL drop sizes.

UV LED module

Precise printing and curing in one process step

The KM1024i printhead with Phoseon UV LED curing module is an optional feature for the LP50 and IP410 inkjet printers. The UV LED module is integrated in the printhead assembly, mounted next to the printhead, enabling precise printing and curing in one movement. It gives users high flexibility and control in tuning their processes. The KM1024i printhead family provides reliable high frequency, high resolution printing in a compact design. Every printhead has 1024 nozzles with tunable drop sizes, nominal at 6, 14 or 32 pL. The Phoseon Fireline FL200 light sources are water-cooled UV LED modules, delivering superior UV curing performance and stability, with a choice of wavelengths at 365, 385, 395 or 405 nm.
