Professional career

For more than 30 years, Dr. David Dean has worked successfully at management level with global technology companies on their strategy and corporate development. After studying physics and completing his doctorate in theoretical nuclear physics, he began a scientific career before joining the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Munich in 1985. Dr. Dean was elected Partner in 1994 and Senior Partner in 2002 and was responsible for the Technology & Telecoms business in Europe between 1994 and 2000; between 2000 and 2006 he assumed global responsibility for this business. Since 2014, he has been an independent management consultant and member of various international supervisory bodies and regularly deals with the financial matters of the respective company. This includes accounting issues, risk management, annual and consolidated financial statements and corresponding discussions with the auditors.

Dr. David Dean's professional background makes him a proven expert in strategy development and implementation. His extensive experience with various global technology companies should also be emphasized. Due to his many years as a member of the Audit Committee and as Chairman of the Risk and Compliance Committee of Axiata Group Berhad, he also has special knowledge and experience in the application of accounting principles and the design of internal control and risk management systems. Dr. David Dean thus qualifies as a financial expert within the meaning of Section 100 (5) of the German Stock Corporation Act.
